South Indian Bank share price is in focus after the bank released strong Q1 business updates, highlighting growth in loans, deposits, and an improvement in asset quality.

Solid Growth in Loans and Deposits

As of June 30, 2025, the bank’s gross advances rose 8% year-on-year to ₹89,201 crore, up from ₹82,580 crore. On a sequential basis, advances grew from ₹87,579 crore in the March quarter.

Total deposits also grew by 9% YoY to ₹1,12,922 crore, compared to ₹1,03,532 crore last year. CASA deposits (Current and Savings Account) rose 9.06% to ₹36,204 crore. The CASA ratio stood at 32.06%, slightly better than the 31.37% reported in March 2025 and consistent with the same period last year.

South Indian Bank Share Price Performance and Market Buzz

South Indian Bank share price has gained 16.71% over the past year and an impressive 352% in the last three years. On July 1st, the stock opened at ₹31, with over 30.38 lakh shares traded, resulting in a turnover of ₹9.51 crore. At 12:08 PM, the stock was trading at ₹31.19.

On July 1, 2025, following these positive updates, South Indian Bank share price closed 2.50% higher at ₹31.57 on the BSE, compared to ₹30.80 earlier. The stock recently hit a 52-week high of ₹31.65, with a low of ₹22.12 seen in April 2025.

Financial Health of South Indian Bank

The bank’s strong Q1 follows a solid Q4 FY25, where net profit rose 19% YoY to ₹342.2 crore. Asset quality also improved, with Gross NPAs dropping to 3.2% from 4.3% in Q3 FY25. Slippages reduced to ₹206 crore from ₹291 crore. Net interest income dipped slightly by 0.7% to ₹868.3 crore.
