JSW Renew Energy Thirty Seven Limited, a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy, has signed Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreements (BESPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) for a 250 MW / 500 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The BESS projects will be developed under a Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) model in Rajasthan, reinforcing JSW Energy’s focus on sustainable energy infrastructure. The agreement spans 12 years, with a tariff of ₹2,24,000 per MW per month, and is backed by viability gap funding to support the long-term viability of the project.
With this addition, JSW Energy’s total locked-in energy storage capacity has reached 29.3 GWh, comprising 2.9 GWh of BESS and 26.4 GWh of Pumped Hydro Storage. This marks significant progress toward the company’s strategic goal of achieving 40 GWh energy storage capacity by 2030.
On July 2, 2025, JSW Energy share price opened at ₹531.90, up from its previous close of ₹527.15. At 9:51 AM, the share price of JSW Energy was trading at ₹524.75, down by 0.46% on the NSE.
