Sensex Opens in Green on July 21; ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank & More Surge

Indian benchmark indices opened in green on Monday, July 21, 2025. At 11:13 AM, BSE Sensex rose over 373 points after the market opened and was trading at the 82,000 level. Sensex opened at 81,918.53 and was trading at 82,131.64, up by 0.46%. 

BSE Sensex 30 Stocks

Out of the 30 stocks in the BSE Sensex, 14 stocks were trading in the red, while the remaining stocks were witnessing a rise. Among the gainers, Eternal (Zomato), stood out with an upward momentum, registering a notable gain of 2.64% on the BSE as of 11:15 AM. 

ICICI Bank gained 2.35%, followed by HDFC Bank up by 1.89% and UltraTech Cement rose by 1.20%. In contrast, Reliance was down by 2.09%. 

Sectoral Performance 

All the indices on BSE were in green. BSE Bankex and BSE Sensex 50 increased by 0.93% and 0.40%, respectively.

Conclusion

Overall, Indian markets opened in green on July 21, 2025, with Sensex crossing 82,000. Banking and cement stocks drove gains, while Reliance lagged. Broad market sentiment stayed positive with all BSE indices trading in green.
