On June 12, Dalal Street witnessed a significant block deal involving Asian Paints shares during the pre-open session. A total of 3.5 crore shares, representing 3.64% equity, were traded at ₹2,201 per share. The deal size was ₹7,703.5 crore. Reliance Industries (RIL), via its subsidiary Siddhant Commercials Private Limited, sold these shares, reducing its stake from 4.90% to 1.26%. In March 2025, Asian Paints sold its Indonesian business to a Singapore-based subsidiary of Omega Property Investments Pty Ltd, Australia, for SGD 6.8 million (₹44 crore). This divestment aligns with the company’s focus on its core markets.

The large block deal marks a shift in Asian Paints’ shareholding with SBI Mutual Fund becoming a major stakeholder. Going forward, Asian Paints will need effective strategies to boost growth and market presence.
