In a move to simplify urban mobility across Delhi-NCR, Rapido has partnered with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Open Network for Digital Commerce(ONDC) to bring metro ticketing to the Rapido app. This digital integration is designed to bridge the gap between metro services and last-mile travel by allowing users to plan and book their full journey from a single platform.
The collaboration offers several user-friendly benefits, including discounted metro fares and flat ₹25 Rapido bike rides for metro travellers. First-time users who book their metro tickets through the Rapido app are also eligible for a complimentary ride. Confirming these offerings, Rapido Co-Founder Aravind Sanka stated to PTI, “We are making metro ticketing available on our platform with the help of ONDC and DMRC. To encourage adoption, the first ride will be free for all users who book their metro ticket through the Rapido app.”
As part of its commitment to safer and more accessible commuting, Rapido is introducing dedicated zones for women at high-traffic metro stations. To further improve first- and last-mile connectivity, the company is also establishing designated pick-up and drop-off points at select metro stations across Delhi. These efforts aim to make daily travel smoother, more secure, and inclusive for all passengers, especially during peak hours.
It is reported that nearly one lakh users already utilise the platform to access metro stations, forming part of its broader daily user base of over eight lakh. Notably, 40% of its rider network is made up of women, reinforcing the company’s commitment to accessibility and diverse urban mobility solutions.
