NSE Indices Limited, the index services arm of the National Stock Exchange, has launched the Nifty India Infrastructure & Logistics Index. The index is built to reflect the performance of companies in the infrastructure and logistics space, based on data from the Nifty 500.

New Infrastructure and Logistics Index Selection

The index includes 100 stocks selected from the Nifty 500. Selection is based on the 6-month average free-float market capitalisation. The index uses a free-float market cap weighting method, with individual stock weights capped at 5%. The combined weight of all stocks from a single industry is limited to 20%.

The base date is April 1, 2005, and the base value is set at 1000. Reconstitution of the index happens twice a year. Rebalancing is done every quarter to adjust weights based on market changes.

As of May 30, 2025, the index has posted a 1-year total return of 0.61%. Since its inception, it has recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.22%.
