Nifty 50 Slips 0.61% on June 2 Amid Mixed Sectoral Cues

On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Indian benchmark index Nifty 50 opened at 24,669.70 and was at 24,599.15, down by 0.61%, as of 10:10 AM. As of the same time, it touched the day’s high so far at 24,717.55 and day’s low at 24,526.15. 

Nifty Next 50 and Nifty Midcap Select were in green, while Nifty Financial Services was in the red. 

5 Nifty 50 Top Gainers

The top 5 gainers on the Nifty 50 stocks are, Apollo Hospitals, Adani PortsM&M, Coal India and Hindustan Unilever. These stocks were trading up 2.72%, 1.61%, 0.88%, 0.81% and 0.74%, respectively.  

5 Nifty 50 Top Losers

The top 5 losers on the Nifty 50 stocks are, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, JSW Steel, UltraTech Cement and Tata Steel. These stocks were trading down by 1.99%, 1.81%, 1.68%, 1.56% and 1.49%, respectively.  

Sectoral Performance: Nifty Private Bank Leads

As of 10:16 AM, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Midsmall Financial Services and Nifty FMCG were trading in the green, up by 1.80%, 1.18% and 0.51%, respectively. In the sectoral indices, Nifty Metal and Nifty IT were trading in the red.

Conclusion 

Despite Nifty 50 trading in the red, broader market indices like Nifty Next 50 and sectoral indices such as PSU Bank and FMCG showed resilience. Select stocks and sectors are driving market momentum amid mixed cues.
