Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund has rolled out 2 new index funds based on factor investing strategies: the BSE 500 Momentum 50 Index Fund and the BSE 500 Quality 50 Index Fund. These funds aim to offer retail investors exposure to systematic, rules-based equity strategies at low cost.
The New Fund Offers (NFOs) for both schemes opened on July 21, 2025, and will close on August 4, 2025. Investors can subscribe through the AMC’s official website, authorised distributors, or registered online platforms.
The Momentum 50 Index Fund will track the top 50 stocks from the BSE 500 that have shown the strongest price momentum over recent periods. The index is reviewed and rebalanced every quarter to reflect current market trends and price movements.
The Quality 50 Index Fund selects 50 companies from the BSE 500 based on financial strength. Criteria include stable earnings, high return on equity, and low debt levels. The index is designed to represent fundamentally sound companies with consistent performance.
Both funds follow a quantitative, factor-based strategy. The methodology is entirely rules-based, without any active human stock selection. This type of investing is often referred to as “smart beta,” combining elements of both passive and factor-based strategies.
Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC is a joint venture between Aditya Birla Capital and Sun Life (India) AMC Investments Inc. Established in 1994, it is one of India’s major asset management companies with offerings across equity, debt, and hybrid segments.
