On October 8, 2025, Sensex fell 153.09 points to 81,773.66, Nifty down 62.15 points to 25,046.15; ITI Ltd rose ₹32.50, Aster DM Health ₹37.00, Kaynes Technology fell ₹404.00, Orient Refractories ₹29.50.

Indian benchmark indices witnessed a mixed session on October 8, 2025, showing high volatility. The Sensex fell 153.09 points or 0.19% to close at 81,773.66, while the Nifty declined 62.15 points or 0.25% to finish at 25,046.15. 

The market opened on a positive note, supported by early gains in IT and consumer durables sectors, continuing optimism from previous sessions. However, profit-booking and cautious investor sentiment led to declines in several sectors, particularly realty, telecom, pharma, oil & gas, media, and PSU banks, which fell between 0.3% and 2%. 

Midcap and smallcap indices also witnessed pressure, shedding 0.7% and 0.4%, respectively. Around 1,697 shares advanced, 2,297 declined, and 138 remained unchanged.
