Tata Steel Share Price in Focus; Invests USD 355 Million in T Steel Holdings
Tata Steel Limited informed the exchanges about its latest fund infusion into its wholly owned foreign subsidiary, T Steel Holdings Pte. Ltd (TSHP). This announcement follows earlier disclosures made on May 12, June 25, and July 10, 2025.
Details of the Acquisition
On August 26, 2025, Tata Steel acquired 353,23,38,309 equity shares of TSHP, each with a face value of USD 0.1005, amounting to a total investment of USD 355 million (₹3,104.03 crore). The acquisition was made through a subscription to equity shares, further strengthening the subsidiary’s capital base.
Despite this large-scale equity infusion, TSHP will continue to remain a wholly owned foreign subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited. The move underscores Tata Steel’s ongoing commitment to support its overseas business operations and maintain full ownership control.
Strategic Rationale
Such capital infusions are typically aimed at enhancing the subsidiary’s ability to meet business needs, expand operations, or optimise capital structures. For Tata Steel, it also reflects a long-term focus on strengthening its global footprint in the steel sector.
