RVNL’s order book is well-diversified across several sectors. In the civil engineering segment, which includes contracts for railways, highways, and metro projects, the total orders amount to approximately ₹26,000 crore. Of this, metro-related civil works constitute about ₹10,000 crore, highway projects are valued at around ₹9,000 crore, and traditional civil works such as railways and irrigation account for roughly ₹7,000 crore.
The electrical segment holds orders worth ₹10,900 crore, primarily driven by overhead electrification projects like the 2x25 kV railway conversion, the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) focused on state-level power distribution, and major transmission line contracts.
In the signalling and telecom sector, orders total approximately ₹14,700 crore. This includes major railway signalling modernisation projects and a significant contract under the BharatNet initiative. The BharatNet contract alone has a capital cost of ₹6,800 crore, with the total value, including operations and maintenance over 10 years, estimated at ₹13,000 crore.
