Mahindra & Mahindra has assured that it remains insulated from global rare earth shortages, critical for electric vehicle (EV) production. As per reports, the automaker has secured enough inventory to ensure seamless production across the current and next two quarters, and is nearly covered for Q4FY26 as well.
Rare earth magnets are essential in EV motors, and global shortages have left many automakers grappling. Mahindra, however, has acted early by securing sufficient inventories and exploring alternatives such as ferrite materials and light earth composites. These proactive measures allow the company to operate without disruption for at least the next three quarters.
The company has implemented multiple initiatives to mitigate any risks from rare earth magnet shortages. This includes stockpiling, diversifying materials used in powertrains, and collaborating closely with suppliers. These strategic moves have fortified Mahindra’s position, enabling steady EV rollouts amid industry-wide volatility.
With production security in place, Mahindra is strategically positioned to expand its EV presence. The uninterrupted magnet supply ensures the successful execution of new launches and timely deliveries, thereby supporting its long-term mobility goals.

While Mahindra stands strong, other automakers are scaling back EV targets. For instance, some competitors have trimmed production due to the constrained magnet supply chain, particularly for newly introduced models. This divergence underlines Mahindra’s preparedness in securing critical components.
In Q1FY26, Mahindra reported ₹3,450 crore net profit, marking a 32% rise YoY. Revenue surged to ₹34,143 crore, driven by strong demand for SUVs and tractors. This financial performance underscores the company’s efficient operations and robust market presence.
On July 31, 2025, Mahindra & Mahindra share price opened at ₹3,225.00 on NSE, above the previous close of ₹3,208.90. During the day, it surged to ₹3,233.00 and dipped to ₹3,151.10. The stock is trading at ₹3,156.50 as of 9:20 AM. The stock registered a moderate decline of 1.63%.
Over the past week, it has declined by 2.77%, over the past month, it has moved up by 0.23%, and over the past 3 months, it has moved up by 8.64%.
Mahindra’s rare earth supply strategy highlights its proactive risk management and commitment to uninterrupted EV production. While the broader auto industry faces disruptions, Mahindra’s foresight and execution provide a competitive edge during a critical growth phase.
