Infosys share price closed 1% higher at ₹1,425.10 on NSE after the company announced a massive ₹18,000 crore share buyback. This is the company’s fifth buyback and its largest so far. The buyback price has been set at ₹1,800 per share, an 18% premium over the current market price.

Tax Implications

Infosys Buyback History

This marks the fifth buyback by Infosys. The last one was in 2022, worth ₹9,300 crore. Earlier buybacks were announced in 2017, 2019, and 2021, ranging between ₹8,260 crore and ₹13,000 crore.

Infosys Share Price Movement

Infosys share price was trading at ₹1,510.50, down 0.99% as of September 15, 2:52 pm IST. The stock opened at ₹1,525.60 and touched an intraday high of ₹1,527.50 and a low of ₹1,501.20. Infosys has a market capitalisation of ₹6.26 lakh crore, with a P/E ratio of 23.00 and a dividend yield of 2.85%. Over the past year, the stock has traded between a 52-week high of ₹2,006.45 and a 52-week low of ₹1,307.00. The company pays a quarterly dividend of ₹10.76 per share.
