Bank Of India’s Global Business Rises 11.8% YoY To ₹15.61 Lakh Crore In Q2 FY26

State-owned Bank of India (BoI) reported an 11.8% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its global business, which reached ₹15,61,888 crore as of September 30, 2025, compared to ₹13,97,100 crore a year earlier, according to the bank’s provisional financial results for the second quarter of FY26. The growth was supported by healthy traction in both deposits and advances across domestic and overseas segments.

Growth In Deposits and Advances

Global deposits grew 10.08% YoY to ₹8,53,301 crore from ₹7,75,181 crore in the same period last year. Global gross advances rose 13.94% to ₹7,08,587 crore compared with ₹6,21,919 crore, driven by higher retail and MSME lending.

On the domestic front, deposits increased 8.53% to ₹7,30,097 crore as of September 2025, versus ₹6,72,732 crore a year ago. Retail term deposits stood at ₹3,45,026 crore, recording a 14.15% annual growth. Domestic gross advances rose 14.62% to ₹5,96,794 crore from ₹5,20,653 crore in September 2024.

June Quarter Financial Performance

In the first quarter of FY26, Bank of India reported a 32.2% YoY rise in consolidated net profit at ₹2,252 crore, compared to ₹1,703 crore in the same period last year. The growth was supported by expansion in advances across retail, MSME, and overseas portfolios.

Global advances grew 12.02% YoY, with domestic loans up 11.24% and overseas loans up 16.34%. Retail and MSME advances expanded 20% and 17%, respectively, while agricultural credit grew 12%. Deposits rose 9.07% YoY, led by domestic growth of 9.62%. The current and savings account (CASA) ratio stood at 39.88%, with CASA deposits up 2.5%.

Margins And Profitability

Net interest income (NII) declined 3.3% YoY to ₹6,068 crore in the June quarter, compared with ₹6,276 crore last year, reflecting margin pressure from higher funding costs. Operating profit for the quarter stood at ₹4,009 crore, up 9% YoY, supported by steady growth in other income.

Asset Quality Trends

The bank’s asset quality remained stable with some sequential improvement. Gross non-performing assets (GNPA) stood at 2.92%, improving 170 basis points YoY from 4.62% a year earlier but slightly higher than 2.89% in the March quarter. Net NPA declined to 0.75% from 0.82% sequentially, indicating improved provisioning discipline.

Share Price Performance

Shares of Bank of India closed marginally higher on Monday, October 6, 2025. The stock ended at ₹125.90 on the BSE, up ₹0.40 or 0.32% from the previous session.

Conclusion

Bank of India reported a strong increase in business volumes for Q2 FY26, supported by double-digit growth in deposits and advances. While margin pressures affected NII, operating profits and asset quality remained resilient.
