Amazon has expanded its instant delivery service, Amazon Now, to Mumbai, as per the reports. The service was earlier launched in Bengaluru and Delhi, offering deliveries of daily essentials in 10 minutes, as per news reports.
The company has set up more than 100 micro-fulfilment centres across the three metros. These small facilities act as dark stores and are placed close to residential areas to enable faster delivery. Amazon said it will add hundreds more by the end of the year.
Amazon Now covers groceries, personal care items, baby products, electronics accessories, small appliances, and festive goods. Customers can access the service within the existing Amazon app, without needing a separate platform.
Amazon reported that orders through Amazon Now in Bengaluru have been increasing by about 25% month on month. The company also noted that Prime members are using the service shop more often than before.
The launch in Mumbai brings Amazon into direct competition with Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart. According to earlier reports, Blinkit holds around 52% of the quick-commerce market, followed by Swiggy Instamart with 25% and Zepto with 23%.
Reports suggest that India’s quick-commerce market was estimated at $7 billion in 2024. A forecast by Morgan Stanley suggests the market could expand to $57 billion by 2030. Industry data also shows that two-thirds of online grocery orders in 2024 came through quick-commerce platforms.

As per news reports, Amazon has committed over ₹2,000 crore this year to strengthen logistics and delivery systems in India. The company is also preparing for its Great Indian Festival sale starting September 23, 2025.
By adding Mumbai, Amazon is moving beyond pilot launches and expanding its presence in quick commerce. More neighbourhoods and cities are expected to be added in the coming months.
