ACME Hybrid Urja Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACME Solar Holding Limited (NSE: ACMESOLAR), has achieved a significant milestone by securing long-term project financing of ₹3,184 crore from REC Limited (NSE: RECLTD).
This funding will support the development and construction of a 280 MW Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project contracted with NHPC. REC will act as the sole lender, providing financing for a tenure of 18 years.
This marks REC Limited’s third financing initiative for ACME Solar’s FDRE projects this year, following two earlier financings for projects with a combined capacity of 570 MW. Such repeated backing underscores the strong trust and confidence of top lenders in ACME’s expertise in project development and execution.
The company has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NHPC at a tariff of ₹4.64 per unit. The project will integrate multiple renewable energy technologies, including Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), to ensure higher predictability and dispatchability. It is designed to achieve a minimum annual Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 40% and maintain 90% availability during peak hours on a monthly basis.
Once operational, the project will contribute significantly to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while supporting India’s transition to cleaner energy. The initiative aligns closely with the government’s ambitious renewable energy targets and strengthens the country’s position as a leader in sustainable energy solutions.

With partnerships and long-term agreements, the project is set to make a lasting impact on the nation’s clean energy journey.
