ACME Solar Raises ₹15,000 Crore in Debt Funding for Greenfield Projects

ACME Solar has raised debt funding of about ₹15,000 crore to finance its upcoming greenfield projects. The confirmation came from Group Chief Financial Officer Rajat Singh in an interaction with Business Standard.
Current and Planned Capacity
As per reports, the company’s operational capacity stands at 2,890 megawatts (MW). Over the next 2 years, ACME aims to add close to 2,000 MW annually. This is part of its plan to raise operational capacity to 5 gigawatts (GW) by 2026. The first phase will see an investment of ₹15,000-₹17,000 crore.
Under-Construction Projects
As per reports, ACME has 4,080 MW under construction. Alongside this, it is developing 550 megawatt-hours (MWh) of standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) have been signed for 2,240 MW of the under-construction capacity and for the 550 MWh BESS project.
The company has also received Letters of Award (LoAs) for 1,840 MW of projects. These are expected to progress to signed PPAs within the next three to six months. This pipeline adds to the existing under-construction portfolio and is expected to support the overall capacity growth target.
ACME’s Expansion Targets
By 2028, ACME plans to expand capacity to 7 GW through renewable and hybrid projects, including firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE). The long-term goal is to achieve 10 GW of capacity by 2030. The second phase of expansion, which will follow the 2026 milestone, is currently under planning.
