On Thursday, the benchmark indices were trading flat with Sensex down around 5 points or 0.01% at 63,518.75 and the Nifty trading up by 10 points or 0.05% at 18,866.65. About 1,776 shares have advanced, 1,090 declined, and 134 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were Tata Steel Ltd, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank whereas the top Sensex losers were Wipro Ltd, Power Grip Corporation of India and Infosys Ltd.
The BSE Auto Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Information Technology Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Auto Index soared 0.32%, led by Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd and UNO Minda Ltd while the BSE IT Index was down 0.82% dragged down by Aurionpro Solutions Ltd and ASM Technologies Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the green, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.10% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.39%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Max Financial Services Ltd and ICICI Securities Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Cheviot Co. Ltd and Allied Digital Services Ltd.
