On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading in green with Sensex up around 500 points or 0.78% at 65,217.27 and the Nifty trading up by 135 points or 0.72% at 19,330.85. About 2,035 shares have advanced, 1,284 declined, and 168 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were Housing Development Finance Corp Ltd, HDFC Bank and Ultratech Cement Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Tech Mahindra Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
The BSE Financial Services Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Auto Ltd Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Financial Services Index soared 1.30%, led by L&T Finance Holdings Ltd and Computer Age Management Services Ltd while the BSE Auto Index was down 0.18% dragged down by Apollo Tyres Ltd and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the green, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.36% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.57%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Gujarat Gas Ltd and JSW Energy Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were ADF Foods Ltd and G N A Axles Ltd.
