On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading flat with Sensex down around 72 points or 0.11% at 62,909 and the Nifty trading down by 5 points or 0.04% at 18,657. About 1,735 shares have advanced, 1,598 declined, and 176 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, IndusInd Bank and Tata Motors whereas the top Sensex losers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd and Tata Steel Ltd.
The BSE Healthcare Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Realty Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Healthcare Index soared 0.97%, led by Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd and Kopran Ltd while the BSE Realty Index was down 0.62% dragged down by Sobha Ltd and DLF Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the red, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.45% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.26%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were ICICI Securities Ltd and SJVN Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Rattan India Power Ltd and Orient Green Power Company Ltd.
