JSW Steel Share Price in Focus; Reports 8% YoY Growth in May 2025 Crude Steel Output

JSW Steel announced its consolidated crude steel production for May 2025 at 22.73 lakh tonnes, marking an 8% increase year-on-year (YoY) compared to May 2024’s production of 20.98 lakh tonnes. 

The company’s year-to-date crude steel production growth stands at an impressive 13%, reaching 47.56 lakh tonnes till May 2025 compared to 42.18 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period last year.

Breakdown of Production

The majority of production came from Indian operations, which recorded 21.94 lakh tonnes in May 2025, reflecting a 9% YoY increase from 20.13 lakh tonnes in May 2024. The cumulative production from Indian operations rose by 13% to 45.93 lakh tonnes till May 2025, compared to 40.68 lakh tonnes in the previous year. JSW Steel’s US facility in Ohio contributed 0.79 lakh tonnes in May 2025, a slight decrease from 0.85 lakh tonnes in May 2024, with cumulative production of 1.63 lakh tonnes for FY’26 versus 1.50 lakh tonnes in FY’25.

Capacity Utilisation and Maintenance

The capacity utilisation at Indian operations for May 2025 was at 80%, primarily due to a planned maintenance shutdown of one Blast Furnace at Dolvi. This Blast Furnace was successfully restarted on 30th May 2025, which is expected to enhance production capacity in the upcoming months.

JSW Steel Share Price Performance

On June 9, 2025, JSW Steel share price opened at ₹1,006.30, up from its previous close of ₹1,004.90. At 12:03 PM, the share price of JSW Steel was trading at ₹1,011.40, up by 0.65% on the NSE.
