According to the Moneycontrol report, Tata Capital has kicked off a series of domestic and international investor roadshows in preparation for its highly anticipated ₹17,000 crore initial public offering. The company’s IPO will be the largest in 2025, seeking to attract both retail and institutional investors through strategic roadshow campaigns across global financial hubs.

Tata Capital’s ₹17,000 Crore IPO Strategy Begins with Global Engagement

Tata Capital has initiated its IPO journey by launching investor roadshows in key global markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This initiative follows the submission of an updated Draft Red Herring Prospectus to SEBI on August 4, 2025.

As per the report, the IPO comprises a fresh issue of up to 21 crore equity shares and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 26.58 crore shares, aggregating to 47.58 crore shares. Tata Sons will offload up to 23 crore shares, while International Finance Corporation intends to sell up to 3.58 crore shares.

Investor Sentiment and Roadshow Objectives

The roadshows are aimed at generating investor enthusiasm by showcasing Tata Capital’s diversified lending portfolio, healthy fundamentals, and lineage of the Tata brand. A strong emphasis on digital transformation and expansion in financial services is central to engaging both foreign and domestic institutional investors. The global leg of the roadshows will be followed by domestic events closer to the IPO date, with a greater focus on retail investor participation.

Utilisation of IPO Proceeds and Strategic Growth

The proceeds from the fresh issue will be utilised to augment Tata Capital’s Tier-I capital base, which will support future lending growth and capital requirements. The IPO will not only enhance the company’s growth potential but also increase its transparency and corporate governance through public listing.

Conclusion

Tata Capital's strategic investor outreach is expected to lay a strong foundation for its ₹17,000 crore IPO. With backing from Tata Sons and participation from IFC, the public offering positions the company for sustainable growth and wider market visibility in 2025.
