
Bharat Coking Coal IPO saw an overwhelming subscription of 146.8 times on the final day of bidding from investors. With this strong response, Bharat Coking Coal emerged as the second-most subscribed public sector undertaking (PSU) IPO in India. Now the market participants are looking forward to Bharat Coking Coal IPO allotment, which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14.
The ₹1,071 crore Bharat Coking Coal IPO, which opened for subscription on January 9, attracted bids for 5,093.16 crore shares against the 34.69 crore shares available, as per the data released by the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Segment-wise, the issue witnessed robust demand across all investor categories. The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) portion was subscribed to a massive 310.81 times, while Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) booked their quota 258 times. Retail investors subscribed to their portion 49.25 times. The employees’ reservation was subscribed to 5.17 times, whereas the shareholders’ category saw a subscription of 87.2 times.
Following the allotment, the company is expected to initiate refunds and credit equity shares to investors’ demat accounts on Thursday, January 15. The shares are likely to debut on the BSE and NSE on Friday, January 16.

Incorporated in 1972, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) is primarily engaged in the production of coking coal, along with non-coking and washed coal. Coking coal remains its core product, catering largely to the steel and power sectors. BCCL operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited.
