At 7:55 AM, GIFT Nifty was trading around 24,947.50, reflecting a premium of nearly 60 points over the previous close of Gift Nifty futures, suggesting a strong start for Indian equities.
Investors will keep a close eye on several important factors this week, including the final batch of Q4 earnings, domestic macroeconomic indicators, May’s F&O expiry, foreign institutional investment trends, and key global developments.
On Friday, domestic markets ended on a robust note amid improved risk appetite. The Nifty 50 closed above the 24,800 mark, while the Sensex surged 769.09 points (0.95%) to settle at 81,721.08. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 gained 243.45 points (0.99%) to end the session at 24,853.15.
NTPC : State-run power giant NTPC reported a net profit of ₹7,897.14 crore for the March quarter of FY25, reflecting a strong 22% year-on-year growth. The performance was buoyed by improved operational efficiency and higher generation.
Transrail Lighting: Engineering and project services firm Transrail Lighting posted a robust 27% rise in consolidated net profit for the March quarter, reaching ₹126.57 crore. The strong performance was attributed to a surge in revenue and record-high order inflows.

Ashok Leyland: Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland delivered its best-ever quarterly and annual performance in terms of revenue, EBITDA, and net profit. For Q4FY25, the company reported a net profit of ₹1,130.09 crore, up 32% from ₹853.41 crore in the same quarter last year, driven by strong sales momentum and improved operational metrics.
