Gold prices rose in the domestic futures market on Friday (January 2) morning, supported by strong spot demand and a weaker US dollar. MCX gold February futures climbed 0.69% to ₹1,36,742 per 10 grams, while MCX silver March contracts surged 1.74% to ₹2,39,967 per kg around 9:10 AM. 

In the spot market, 24-carat gold jumped over ₹1,000 to ₹1,37,120 per 10 grams, and silver rose more than ₹4,500 to ₹2,40,530 per kg. Internationally, spot gold gained 1% to US$4,351.70 an ounce, while silver advanced 2% to US$72.63.
