As economic ties grow stronger, Berlin is set to open a dedicated business hub in Bengaluru. This partnership aims to strengthen collaboration between the State of Berlin and the Government of Karnataka, focusing on innovation-driven sectors and entrepreneurial synergies.
A new chapter in Indo-German cooperation unfolds as the State of Berlin plans to establish a formal business representation in Bengaluru. The initiative signifies a strategic move to enhance startup and innovation-driven ties under Karnataka’s Global Innovation Alliance. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Berlin’s Mayor Franziska Giffey and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge. Priority sectors include Artificial Intelligence, FinTech, Life Sciences, and Digitalisation.
This business outpost will serve as a gateway for entrepreneurs from Berlin, offering soft-landing support and facilitating cross-regional start-up collaboration. It is designed to help businesses adapt faster by providing on-ground assistance, networking opportunities, and access to local market resources in Karnataka.
Karnataka and Berlin will form a joint steering committee responsible for evaluating progress and co-developing initiatives. This committee will drive the implementation of capacity-building programs and innovation agendas, ensuring that the partnership delivers measurable results within the targeted high-tech industries.

The initiative was celebrated by the visit of a high-profile 25-member German trade delegation. Key meetings were held with Infosys, IIM Bangalore, and RV College of Engineering, underlining the strategic intent to build long-term academic and business partnerships. Industry bodies like NASSCOM were also actively involved, fostering industry-government dialogue.
Berlin’s decision to establish a business hub in Bengaluru underscores deliberate efforts to integrate startup ecosystems and collaborate in future-ready sectors. This move aims to unlock mutual economic opportunities and solidify Bengaluru’s role as Germany’s key partner in South Asia.
