Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has launched a new index fund, the Bajaj Allianz Life Nifty 500 Multifactor 50 Index Fund under its Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIPs). The New Fund Offer (NFO) opened on July 1, 2025, and will remain open until July 14, 2025.
The fund tracks the Nifty 500 Multifactor MQVLv 50 Index. This is a rules-based index that selects 50 stocks from the Nifty 500 based on four factors: Momentum, Quality, Value, and Low Volatility. The index follows a structured selection method using publicly available data.
The fund is passively managed. It uses the index as a base for constructing a diversified portfolio. The approach is to offer systematic exposure to equities through a rule-based model without active stock picking.
The Momentum factor is based on 6-month and 12-month returns adjusted for volatility. Quality is assessed using return on equity, financial leverage, and consistency in earnings. Value considers earnings-to-price, book-to-price, sales-to-price ratios, and dividend yield. Low Volatility is based on the standard deviation of daily returns over the past year.
The fund is intended for investors with high risk tolerance looking for equity exposure through ULIPs. It combines market-linked investment with life insurance coverage, available only through Bajaj Allianz Life's ULIP offerings.
Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance is a joint venture between Bajaj Finserv Limited and Allianz SE. As of April 30, 2025, the insurer manages over ₹1.26 lakh crore in assets and serves more than 3.78 crore individual and group policyholders. The company reported a claim settlement ratio of 99.29% and a solvency ratio of 359% as of March 31, 2025.
