Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has achieved a historic milestone by surpassing 15,000 megawatts (MW) of operational renewable energy capacity.
As of June 2025, the company has an operational portfolio of 15,539.9 MW, making it the first and only renewable energy firm in India to reach this scale, achieved entirely through greenfield projects. The portfolio comprises ~11,005.5 MW of solar, 1,977.8 MW of wind, and 2,556.6 MW of hybrid wind-solar energy.
AGEL’s clean energy capacity is capable of powering nearly 7.9 million households and has the potential to light up the entire northeastern region of India. The renewable energy generated from this capacity could energise thirteen individual Indian states, showcasing AGEL’s instrumental role in accelerating India's transition to sustainable power.
The crown jewel of AGEL’s portfolio is the under-construction Khavda renewable energy park in Kutch, Gujarat. Spanning 538 square kilometers, five times the size of Paris, this is poised to become the world’s largest renewable energy plant, with a target capacity of 30,000 MW by 2029. So far, AGEL has commissioned 5,355.9 MW at Khavda, marking rapid progress at the site.
AGEL’s journey in the past 10 years has included major milestones like the world’s largest single-location solar project (648 MW in Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu) in FY16, and the largest single-location hybrid cluster (2,140 MW in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan) in FY23. Its next milestone is the full commissioning of the 30,000 MW facility at Khavda.
AGEL’s entire operational capacity is water positive and has received top ESG ratings. It ranks 1st on NSE’s ESG ratings for the power sector and leads globally in the FTSE Russell ESG score in the Alternative Electricity Subsector.
On June 30, 2025, Adani Green Energy share price opened at ₹1,020.00, up from its previous close of ₹1,015.60. At 10:47 AM, the share price of Adani Green Energy was trading at ₹1,028.80, up by 1.30% on the NSE.
