Manas Polymers & Energies Ltd. IPO Objectives
- The company plans to utilise ₹1,150.00 lakhs from net proceeds to fund the setup of a solar power plant. The company aims to generate and sell renewable energy to external customers.
- It will further use ₹250.00 lakhs to purchase new machinery and expand manufacturing capacity. The proposed investment includes PET injection molding machines, water chillers, PET dryers, and automated loaders to meet higher demand and improve production efficiency, especially during peak demand periods.
- It will use the remaining net proceeds for general corporate purposes, within the 25% limit set by SEBI regulations. This may include operating expenses, brand building, loan repayment, and other strategic needs.
About Manas Polymers & Energies Ltd.
Manas Polymers & Energies Ltd. makes food-safe PET bottles, jars, and caps. These are mainly used in the packaging industry, especially for food and drinks. The company is also involved in renewable energy as a power producer, but most of its business still comes from making PET packaging products.
As of June 30, 2024, nearly 98% of the company’s revenue came from the PET segment, and only about 2% came from renewable energy. This has been the trend for the past few years, showing that PET packaging is the main focus. Although revenue dropped a bit in 2024, the overall business mix stayed the same.
Most of the company’s income comes from a few key customers. The top 10 customers made up over 60% of total revenue, with the top customer alone bringing in almost 15%. This shows strong client relationships but also means the company relies heavily on a small group of buyers.
Industry Outlook
- The Government of India is promoting the use of plastics in road construction under PMGSY, with ADB funding over US$ 2.31 billion for 22,000+ km of roads, enhancing durability and sustainability.
- India exported plastic products worth US$ 6.69 billion from April to September 2022, showing strong international demand.
- The India Plastics Pact aims to eliminate all unnecessary plastic waste and ensure 100% of plastic packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2030. This will help in increasing the demand for plastics.
