On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading higher with the Sensex up around 307 points or 0.46% at 69,603 while the Nifty-50 up around 74 points or 0.53% at 20,930. About 1,968 shares have advanced, 1,611 declined, and 146 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were ITC Ltd, Wipro Ltd and Nestle India Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Bharati Airtel Ltd, NTPC Ltd and UltraTech Cements Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.24% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.25%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Solar Industries Ltd and JSW Energy Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Spencers Retail Ltd and New Delhi Television Ltd.
The BSE Power Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Realty Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Power Index soared 2.84% led by Adani Green Energy Ltd and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd while the BSE Realty Index was down 0.32% dragged down by Sobha Ltd and Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.
