The Nifty index ended the day with a marginal decrease of 0.02%, while the Sensex index managed to close with a modest uptick of 0.14%, revealing a mixed performance in the two major indices. 

However, the broader market segments presented a different scenario, with the Nifty Midcap index experiencing a significant decline of 3.07% and the Nifty Smallcap index also finishing notably lower by 4.1%. 

In terms of sectors, Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma emerged as the top performers, while Nifty Media, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Metal also posted gains. The leading gainers within the Nifty 50 index included TCS, L&T, and Infosys, while BPCL, NTPC, and Power Grid witnessed notable declines.  

The following penny stocks are likely to be in focus on Wednesday, September 13, 2023:     

Norben Tea & Exports- The stock experienced a substantial surge in its stock price, with the stock zooming and getting locked at 10% upper circuit, indicating a strong breakout in both price and volume. The stock achieved an impressive intraday high of Rs 9.35 per share on the NSE. Norben Tea & Exports Limited is engaged in the business of growing and manufacturing tea and providing commission. 

Ajooni Biotech– The company witnessed a robust price and volume breakout, resulting in the stock zooming more than 8%, reaching an intraday high of Rs 5.20 per share on the NSE. This price rally was backed by a substantial increase in trading volume. Ajooni Biotech Ltd manufactures cattle feed and feed supplements. 

Moksh Ornaments- The counter experienced a notable increase in buying interest as the scrip surged more than 9%, reaching an intraday high of Rs 15.40 per share on NSE. This surge in price was accompanied by a significant rise in trading volume for the scrip. Moksh Ornaments Ltd is in the business of exporting and trading in gold jewellery.
