Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) announced robust operational performance for July 2024, marked by a substantial increase in cargo volume. The company handled a total of 37.3 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) of cargo during the month, representing a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 9.5%.

This impressive growth was primarily driven by a surge in container traffic, which witnessed a remarkable 18% YoY expansion. The positive momentum extended to the first four months of the fiscal year, with APSEZ registering a total cargo volume of 146.3 MMT, up 8% YoY. Containers and liquids & gas segments emerged as key contributors to this overall growth. Notably, Dhamra Port achieved its highest-ever monthly cargo handling of 4.6 MMT during this period.

APSEZ’s logistics arm also showcased robust performance. Rail volumes surged by 17% YoY to 0.21 Million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in the year-to-date period ending July 2024. Additionally, the company’s Gujarat Pipavav International Warehousing and Logistics Company (GPWIS) reported a commendable 28% YoY growth in volumes, reaching 7.42 MMT.

These positive indicators underscore APSEZ’s strong operational efficiency and its ability to capitalise on growing trade volumes. The company’s strategic focus on expanding its logistics capabilities, coupled with its extensive port network, positions it favourably to drive future growth and enhance shareholder value.
