Zen Technologies Ltd., based in Hyderabad, has been granted its 54th Indian patent and 82nd global patent, as per exchange filings. The patent is for a “Single ILU Long Pass Filter,” developed for use in laser-based combat training systems.
The filter enables visible and infrared laser beams to be merged into a single, stable output. This integration helps in improving the functioning of training simulators by reducing alignment issues seen in older systems.
The filter is compact and designed for rugged use. It lowers the need for recalibration and maintenance, allowing for use in full-scale training systems as well as smaller, mobile setups.
Zen sees this development as a step toward greater export opportunities. The modular design of the system allows for easier deployment across different geographies and defence environments.
This patent adds to Zen’s portfolio of over 172 filings. The company’s R&D efforts are officially recognised by India’s Ministry of Science and Technology. More than 1,000 training systems have been delivered so far, both in India and abroad.
Zen Technologies has also developed solutions that meet the specifications of foreign defence organisations. These include training programs aligned with U.S. Army and Department of Defence requirements.
