Western Carriers (India) Ltd. has received a ₹230 crore contract from Jindal Stainless Ltd. The agreement spans three years and covers end-to-end rail transportation of EXIM (export-import) containers. The company shared this update in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
The work involves transporting EXIM containers from various ports to Jindal Stainless’ siding, located near its Jajpur plant. It also includes handling customs clearance, returning empty or export-laden containers, and completing last-mile delivery to container freight stations or shipping line yards.
Both contracts, worth a combined ₹788 crore, position Western Carriers as a key logistics partner for Jindal Stainless. While the earlier deal focuses on domestic transport, the newer one centres on international container movement and related activities.
This comes shortly after Western Carriers secured another three-year contract from Jindal Stainless worth ₹558 crore on June 25. That project focuses on dispatching slabs, coils, and sheet plates in DSO containers to multiple destinations across India.
