The top Sensex gainers were Reliance Industries Ltd, Ultratech Cements Ltd and Bharti Airtel Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd and Axis Bank.
The indices in the broader markets were trading flat, with the BSE Mid-cap index down 0.08% and the BSE Small-cap index down 0.07%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Macrotech Developers Ltd and Crisil Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd and Medicamen Biotech Ltd.
The BSE Telecommunication Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Auto Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Telecommunication Index soared 1.60% led by Vodafone Idea Ltd and Sterlite Technologies Ltd while the BSE Teck Index was down 1.27% dragged down by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Tata Motors Ltd.
