Uber has entered into a strategic partnership with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to strengthen its presence in India’s digital services landscape. Through this collaboration, Uber is set to roll out new services aimed at improving urban mobility and business logistics. The initiative begins with metro ticket integration in Delhi and marks the company’s first major move toward business-to-business (B2B) logistics in the country. This expansion reflects Uber’s commitment to innovation and support for India’s growing digital commerce infrastructure.
Uber users in Delhi can now conveniently book metro tickets for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) through the Uber app. This integration allows customers to purchase QR-based tickets directly within the platform, eliminating the need for separate transit apps or physical tickets. The feature, launched in partnership with ONDC, aims to simplify daily commuting for millions of users. Uber has announced its intention to expand this metro ticketing service to three more cities by the end of 2025. This move reinforces Uber’s strategy to offer more comprehensive urban mobility solutions.
Alongside its mobility services, Uber plans to enter the B2B logistics space through ONDC. The company will enable businesses to access its vast network of 1.4 million drivers to meet on-demand delivery needs. “We are partnering with ONDC to launch a B2B delivery offering, where businesses will be able to request on-demand delivery of parcels through Uber’s network,” Uber said in a statement. Initially focusing on food delivery, the service is expected to expand into other business segments over time. This marks a significant diversification of Uber’s offerings in India beyond passenger transport.

Uber’s integration with ONDC represents a significant expansion of its role in India’s mobility and logistics ecosystem. By offering metro ticketing and stepping into B2B logistics, Uber not only enhances convenience for commuters and businesses but also aligns with the Indian government’s vision of an open, inclusive digital commerce platform. This partnership signals Uber’s long-term commitment to innovating and adapting in one of its key global markets.
