Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has been selected as the lowest (L1) bidder for a 225 MW (AC) solar power project in Gujarat. The company secured this order from a reputed public sector undertaking (PSU) developer under a turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) package.
This project marks the first domestic order for SWREL in FY26 and highlights its growing presence in India’s solar energy sector.
This large-scale project underlines SWREL’s strong foothold in Gujarat, a key hub for renewable energy development. The company’s latest win is a notable addition to its expanding EPC portfolio and reinforces its image as a trusted name for executing high-capacity solar projects across India.
SWREL Global CEO Chandra Kishore Thakur shared his excitement about securing the order while commenting on the development. He said, “We are thrilled to announce our first domestic order of FY26 from a very reputed PSU developer and continue to build on our strong position in the Gujarat market.” This announcement adds to SWREL’s momentum as it continues to serve major clients across geographies.
At 1:35 PM on May 29, 2025, Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy's share price increased by 1.74% on the NSE, reaching ₹287.25 compared to its previous close of ₹282.15. The company's market capitalisation stood at ₹6,698 crore. The stock had reached a 52-week low of ₹281.10 and a 52-week high of ₹288.90.
SWREL is a key player in India’s renewable energy industry, known for delivering large utility-scale solar, floating solar, hybrid and energy storage projects. The company boasts a global EPC portfolio exceeding 22.6 GWp, with operations spanning 28 countries including India, South-east Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia, and the America.
