SpiceJet is ramping up its operational readiness by finalising a lease for 5 Boeing 737 aircraft. Expected to be inducted by October 2025, the move is targeted at meeting increased passenger demand during the upcoming winter and early summer 2026 travel period.
On July 25, 2025, SpiceJet announced it will lease 5 Boeing 737 aircraft under a damp lease model, where the lessor provides some operational services along with the aircraft, while the airline controls other elements. This fleet induction is critical for addressing rising passenger volumes during the winter festive season and onward into early summer 2026.
