In a major development aimed at enhancing its operational capabilities, SpiceJet has received the first two overhauled aircraft engines from global MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) provider, StandardAero.
These include one CFM LEAP‐1B engine, used in Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, serviced at StandardAero’s Houston facility, and one Q400 engine, overhauled in Singapore. This marks the beginning of a structured fleet recovery initiative by the airline.
SpiceJet has also successfully brought a grounded Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) aircraft back into active service. The aircraft, which returned to operation last month, represents the airline’s ongoing commitment to restoring its fleet in a phased and methodical manner.
As part of its broader fleet revival plan, SpiceJet has sent a total of 17 engines for overhaul. Of these, six LEAP‐1B engines were sent to StandardAero’s Houston facility and seven Q400 engines to its Singapore unit. Additionally, four engines have been dispatched to Carlyle Aviation to support the revival of other grounded Boeing 737 NG aircraft.
SpiceJet Ltd primarily operates in the air transportation sector, offering passenger and cargo carriage services.
On July 4, 2025, SpiceJet share price opened at ₹39.99, almost the same as its previous close of ₹39.92. At 9:38 AM, the share price of SpiceJet was trading at ₹40.08, up by 0.40% on the BSE.
