Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) has completed the deregistration of its Australian aerospace subsidiary, Mahindra Aerospace Australia Pty Ltd (MAAPL).
The company confirmed the development in a filing on Friday, stating that Mahindra Aerospace Pvt Ltd (MAPL) has received the deregistration certificate for MAAPL’s voluntary liquidation.
This finalises M&M’s exit from the aircraft manufacturing segment. The process began in November 2023, when the company announced plans to wind down the business as part of its capital allocation review. MAAPL’s deregistration follows the sale of multiple subsidiaries that operated under it.
Before the liquidation, MAAPL had signed a share purchase agreement to sell its entire stake in several entities, including Gipps Aero, GA8 Airvan, GA200, Nomad TC, Airvan 10, and Airvan Flight Services. After the transaction, these companies were no longer part of MAAPL, MAPL, or M&M. The deregistration of MAAPL now brings the process to an end.
In FY25, MAAPL recorded revenue of ₹0.48 crore from operations and had a net worth of ₹16.43 crore. The figure accounted for around 0.02% of M&M’s consolidated net worth. Under the liquidation process, MAPL received ₹17.12 crore as distribution proceeds for its 100% shareholding in MAAPL.
M&M had first entered the aerospace sector through its Australian subsidiary over a decade ago. The exit decision, announced in 2023, was aimed at consolidating operations and reallocating resources. Following deregistration, MAAPL is no longer listed as a subsidiary of M&M or MAPL.
