The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has revised the deadline for submission of bids under its ongoing green ammonia tender. The new date is June 30, 2025, extending the earlier deadline of June 26 by four days. The update was shared through an official notification.
The tender was issued on June 7, 2024. It falls under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme – Mode 2A, Tranche I. The scheme is part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which was introduced to scale up domestic green hydrogen and ammonia production.
Under this tender, SECI plans to secure an annual supply of 7,24,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia. This supply will be directed to 13 fertiliser manufacturing plants located across the country. These plants have already been identified as part of the supply plan.
SECI will act as the demand aggregator and enter into 10-year offtake agreements with the selected green ammonia producers. These agreements are meant to provide fixed purchase arrangements for the duration of the contract period.
SECI is the implementing agency under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The agency plays an important role in operationalising the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which has set a target of producing 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030.

The extension gives additional time to bidders to finalise their submissions. The tender will help build a steady domestic supply base for green ammonia, with SECI overseeing demand aggregation and distribution across the fertiliser sector. The updated deadline now closes the submission window at the end of June 2025.
