Sasken Technologies Ltd. has announced a partnership with Microsoft under the Microsoft Devices Ecosystem Platform (MDEP). The collaboration is expected to support the development of smart devices, with Sasken providing product engineering services across various functions.
The Microsoft Devices Ecosystem Platform is designed to bring together device manufacturers, solution providers, and system integrators to help develop collaboration and IoT devices. Sasken will provide services including hardware design, platform porting, system integration, application development, testing, and product lifecycle support.
Work under the partnership will cover areas such as device security, manageability, and system modernisation. Sasken will contribute by offering support at different stages of product development. No device models, clients, or timelines have been disclosed.
Sasken will carry out part of this work from its automotive and embedded systems engineering centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. Other global delivery locations may also be involved. The company has not provided further operational or geographic breakdowns.
The announcement does not mention the commercial value of the partnership or specific customer engagements. No financial guidance or projections related to the deal have been made public at this stage.
Earlier this year, Sasken acquired the Connected Devices business from Borqs Technologies. Reportedly, this has added to Sasken’s engineering talent and brought in chipset-level partnerships. These will now be used to support work under the Microsoft collaboration. The combined capacity will be used in embedded systems, IoT devices, and end-to-end lifecycle services.
