Policybazaar has launched a new service called Saarthi, aimed at assisting senior citizens with their healthcare and insurance needs. The program has been introduced in partnership with several insurers and offers personalised help throughout the insurance journey.
Saarthi includes support for choosing suitable insurance policies, help with claims processing, and regular follow-ups. Each user is assigned a 24/7 relationship manager, who assists with tasks like renewals, reminders, and general queries via call, SMS, or WhatsApp.
The service also offers document collection from home and digital claims assistance. Users can access a dedicated helpline where staff trained in elder care are available to respond.
Families can use the program to purchase insurance for elderly parents living in another city. Saarthi ensures on-ground support in such cases, including emergency coordination. Services like ambulance assistance and hospital coordination are included as part of the claims support process.
Trained advisors are available to explain insurance policies in simplified terms. The program also ties up with healthcare providers for diagnostic and home care services, making the process more accessible for elderly users.
India’s elderly population is expected to reach 319 million by 2050. As more families shift to nuclear setups, access to local support systems for senior citizens has become limited. Saarthi has been launched in response to this trend.
Policybazaar, founded in 2008, currently serves over 80 million registered users and has issued more than 49.3 million insurance policies. In FY24, the company reported an annual premium collection of over ₹15,000 crore. It works with more than 50+ insurance partners and has over 6,000+ on-ground advisors, in addition to round-the-clock digital support.
