The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme launched in 2019 to provide income support to farmers across India. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in 3 equal instalments of ₹2,000 each.
The financial assistance is directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts to help them meet agricultural and household expenses.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has launched a saturation drive that runs from May 1 to May 31 2025. The objective is to ensure that no eligible farmer is excluded from receiving benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme.
This drive is not only for the verification of existing beneficiaries but also to enrol new eligible farmers who have not yet registered. State authorities and local administration have been instructed to support and facilitate the drive at the village level.
The 20th instalment of ₹2,000 is expected to be credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries in June 2025. To receive this instalment, farmers must ensure the following:
Failure to meet these requirements may result in delay or non-receipt of the upcoming instalment.

To complete the necessary steps, farmers are advised to visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC). These centres are equipped to assist farmers with eKYC, Aadhaar linking, and land verification processes. The official PM-KISAN handle has also urged beneficiaries to take prompt action to avoid disruption in the disbursal of benefits.
As of February 2025, over 9.8 crore farmers have benefited from the PM-KISAN scheme, including 2.4 crore women beneficiaries. The 19th instalment was released on February 24, 2025. Earlier payments included the 18th instalment in October 2024 and the 17th instalment in June 2024.
The scheme has become one of the largest direct income support programmes in the country and continues to play a key role in strengthening rural and agricultural economies.
Through initiatives like this saturation drive, the central government reiterates its commitment to supporting the farming community with timely and direct financial assistance. By ensuring all formalities are completed by the deadline, the scheme aims to reach every eligible farmer, thereby promoting inclusive growth in the agricultural sector.
