State-owned mining giant NMDC Limited has announced a revision in the prices of iron ore with effect from June 4, 2025. Post the announcement, NMDC share price has been gaining attention.
As per the latest update filed with the stock exchanges, the company has fixed the price of Baila Lump (65.5%, 10-40mm) at ₹6,300 per ton, while Baila Fines (64%, -10mm) will be priced at ₹5,350 per ton.
These Free on Rail (FOR) prices are inclusive of royalty, District Mineral Foundation (DMF), and National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) charges. However, they do not include additional levies such as GST, Forest Permit Fee, Transit Fee, Environmental Cess, and other applicable taxes.
Earlier this month, NMDC has released its provisional production and sales data for May 2025, indicating a year-on-year (YoY) growth in iron ore output and offtake across its key mining sectors in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. The data reflects continued operational momentum in the early months of FY 2025-26.
In Chhattisgarh, NMDC recorded a production of 3.06 million tonnes (MT) in May 2025, up from 1.27 MT in May 2024. Sales in the state also increased significantly to 3.00 MT, compared to 1.91 MT during the same month last year. Cumulatively, production in the state stood at 5.91 MT, while cumulative sales reached 5.78 MT, as against 3.62 MT and 4.65 MT respectively, in the year-ago period.
Meanwhile, in Karnataka, production rose to 1.37 MT in May 2025 from 1.07 MT last year, while sales increased to 1.34 MT from 0.91 MT. Cumulative production touched 2.52 MT and sales amounted to 2.16 MT, compared to 2.20 MT and 1.70 MT in the previous year.
On June 4, 2025, NMDC share price opened at ₹70.00, almost the same as its previous close of ₹70.69. At 9:28 AM, the share price of NMDC was trading at ₹69.81, down by 1.24% on the NSE.
