Strategic Partnership with DRDO

The company announced that it had signed a significant licensing agreement with DRDO’s Research & Development Establishment (Engineers), Pune.

Under this licensing agreement, Nibe Limited has secured exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the “Modular Bridging System”, a cutting-edge, mobile, mechanically launched bridge designed by DRDO.

This system, capable of rapid deployment, supports bridge spans from 14 meters to 46 meters, enabling efficient mobility for both tracked and wheeled vehicles.

The system is designed specifically for the Indian Armed Forces and other Government agencies, showcasing a high level of engineering innovation tailored to India’s dynamic defence needs.

Nibe’s Commitment to "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat"

The deal reinforces Nibe’s active role in supporting the Indian government's flagship initiatives like “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat”. With this technology transfer, Nibe will manufacture the bridging systems domestically, marking a significant move towards self-reliance in defence production.

The licensing terms grant Nibe Limited exclusive rights for 10 years within specified regions, including the Indian Armed Forces, bolstering its position as a key player in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.

Importance of Nibe’s Modular Bridging System

The Modular Bridging System is a state-of-the-art defence solution, integrating multi-disciplinary engineering designed to rapidly deploy critical infrastructure in conflict zones or natural disaster-struck areas. Its mechanical launch capability and versatility make it essential for enhancing military logistics and strategic mobility.

This system significantly enhances the country’s infrastructure readiness and emergency response capabilities—especially in challenging terrains where conventional mobility is hindered.
