Nava Ltd., formerly known as Nava Bharat Ferro Alloys Ltd., has a rich legacy dating back to its incorporation in 1972. Founded by Dr D Subba Rao, the company has grown under the leadership of his son, Mr D Ashok, who assumed the role of non-executive chairman in September 2024. Currently, operations are managed by his sons, Mr Ashwin Devineni and Mr Nikhil Devineni.
Nava began its journey in 1975 with a small ferrosilicon manufacturing unit in Paloncha, Telangana. It expanded in 1997 by establishing a second ferroalloy unit in Odisha. To support its power-intensive operations, the company diversified into coal-fired power generation the same year. Today, Nava boasts an alloy production capacity of 180,000 TPA and a power generation capacity of 264 MW.
Nava Ltd. has fixed January 20, 2025, as the record date for its stock split. According to the company’s recent exchange filing, this move will subdivide each fully paid-up equity share with a face value of ₹2 into two fully paid-up equity shares with a face value of ₹1.
Earlier this month, shareholders approved amendments to the company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, enabling the stock split. Post-split, the total number of equity shares will double to 50 crore without altering the company’s authorised share capital, which remains at ₹50 crore.
Nava Ltd. has announced that its trading window for securities will remain closed from January 1, 2025, until 48 hours after the declaration of unaudited financial results for the quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2024. This restriction applies to all designated persons, their immediate relatives, and other connected individuals under the company’s insider trading code.
Nava Ltd. has a history of rewarding shareholders, having issued a 1:1 bonus on September 1, 2016.
