Vodafone Idea Limited announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2025.

The company reported improvements in revenue, ARPU, and customer engagement while maintaining its focus on 4G and 5G rollout across key markets.

Financial Performance Shows Steady Growth

Vodafone Idea posted revenue of ₹111.9 billion for Q2FY26, marking a year-on-year growth of 2.4%. On a reported basis, EBITDA stood at ₹46.9 billion, while Cash EBITDA (pre-Ind AS 116) was ₹22.5 billion compared to ₹23.2 billion in the same quarter last year.

The company maintained capital expenditure of ₹17.5 billion during the quarter and ₹42.0 billion for the first half of FY26.

As of September 30, 2025, debt from banks was reduced to ₹15.3 billion, while the cash and bank balance stood at ₹30.8 billion.

Expanding 4G and 5G Footprint Across India

The company made significant strides in expanding its network reach. Vi’s 4G population coverage increased to 84.4% as of September 2025 from 77% in March 2024. Its 4G data capacity rose by 38%, resulting in a 17% improvement in network speeds.

Vodafone Idea launched 5G services in March 2025 and has expanded coverage across all 17 priority circles, which contribute nearly 99% of its revenue. Currently, Vi 5G is available in 29 cities, with further expansion planned based on demand and handset penetration.

During the quarter, the company added over 1,500 new unique 4G towers, enhancing coverage and reliability. It also deployed over 13,000 Massive MIMO sites and more than 12,400 small cells to boost performance in high-traffic areas.

Strong ARPU and Subscriber Growth

The company’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) rose to ₹180, an 8.7% YoY increase from ₹166 in Q2FY25. This growth was driven by customer upgrades, higher data consumption, and recent tariff revisions. The total subscriber base stood at 196.7 million, including 127.8 million 4G and 5G users, up from 125.9 million a year ago.

Digital Initiatives Strengthen Customer Engagement

Vodafone Idea continued enhancing the Vi App experience with the launch of Vi Finance, allowing users to access personal loans, fixed deposits, and credit cards seamlessly. Partnerships with Aditya Birla Capital and InstaMoney have enabled instant digital lending solutions. The app also integrates features like Vi Games, utility bill payments, live news, and metro ticket booking, positioning it as a comprehensive digital lifestyle platform.

AGR Update and Regulatory Developments

The company welcomed the Supreme Court’s recent judgments allowing the Union of India to reconsider and reassess the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) demands for the period up to FY2016–17. Vodafone Idea is in active discussion with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) regarding next steps on this matter.
