Punjab National Bank (PNB) is aiming to touch a total business of ₹30 lakh crore by the end of FY26, slightly higher than its current target of ₹29.56 lakh crore. Managing Director and CEO Ashok Chandra said the bank will focus on both top-line growth and profitability, avoiding low-yield lending.
For FY26, PNB expects 11–12% credit growth and 9–10% deposit growth. The bank has a corporate loan pipeline worth ₹1.29 lakh crore in various stages of disbursement. Past muted growth was due to shedding low-yield corporate loans; now the focus is on profitable lending.
PNB aims for double-digit growth in corporate lending and promises a maximum 15-day turnaround for corporate loan decisions. In the MSME segment, growth has already reached 17–18%, while retail lending is expected to grow 17%. Agriculture retail lending could see a sharp 30–40% growth.
The bank plans to sell ₹4,000–₹5,000 crore worth of NPAs to asset reconstruction companies in FY26, with around 100 accounts identified. It expects to recover 40–50% of the asset value, with some cases possibly achieving full recovery due to strong collateral.
