HCLTech and NVIDIA have opened a Physical AI Innovation Lab in Santa Clara, California. The announcement was made on 17 November 2025. The facility is meant for work involving robotics, automation and physical AI systems that need testing in controlled conditions. It forms part of HCLTech’s existing network of AI-focused centres.

Purpose of the Lab

The centre has been created for companies that need to try out systems which operate in real environments but still depend on digital modelling. It provides space to check how hardware, sensors and autonomous processes behave before any wider rollout. The setup is intended for early development, repeated trials and basic evaluations.

Technology Used

NVIDIA’s platforms are a major component of the lab. These include Omniverse for simulation work, Metropolis for video-based tasks, Isaac Sim for robotics modelling, Jetson for edge devices and Holoscan for on-site processing. These tools allow teams to run different scenarios and observe how systems respond.

HCLTech Components

HCLTech has added VisionX, Kinetic AI, IEdgeX and SmartTwin to the centre. These systems are used for visual analysis, edge workloads, on-ground monitoring and digital twin creation. The combination allows companies to examine behaviour, note irregularities and adjust setups before moving to physical locations.

Current Work with Enterprises

HCLTech states it is already engaged with several large organisations working on physical AI. These include a leading port operator, a global hi-tech firm and a mining company based in Europe. Their projects involve robotics and sensor-based systems that require both simulation and real-world checks. The new site gives an additional location for this type of work.

About HCL Tech

The company employs more than 226,600 people across 60 countries. For the 12 months ending September 2025, HCLTech reported consolidated revenue of $14.2 billion. It works across sectors such as manufacturing, telecom, financial services, life sciences and public services.

HCLTech Share Price Performance

As of November 18, 2025, 10:50 am, HCL Technologies share price was trading at ₹1,594.90, a 0.72% decline from the previous closing price.

Conclusion

The Santa Clara lab provides a setting for organisations to study physical AI systems using simulation tools and hardware setups. It is designed for testing and review before any wider deployment.
